Walking the dog Theater presents
2008
June 16th-20th, 2008 for 8-10 years olds For Middle Folk: June 23rd-July 4th for 11-12 years olds Led by Laurie Portocarrero Over the past four summers our growing number of Little and Middle folk has helped to create a unique and liberal-arts-approach drama camp. We have met on the grassy hill of Windy Hill Barn in Harlemville and in the cozy valley at the Old Hawthorne Valley Farmstore, to sing, play and tell stories together. We have picnicked in the shade and walked in the sun, talked to the neighboring horses and petted the resident cats, made flower chains and posed riddles, played games boisterous and quiet.
And out of our play has emerged each time a story-play, woven of narrative, colorful characters, song and music, created by us all and shared with pride and joy with our families and friends at the end of our time together. From Grimms' ridiculous and lovable Six Sillies to the delightful Middle-Eastern story The Gold in the Ground; from the Seven Year Wonder Book's The Little Crippled Woodmaiden, to the ancient Greek myth of the great Prometheus; each experience has been rich and filled with fun and discovery. August 4th - 24th Theater Workshop & Play Production for 12-15 year olds Play adaptation based on the story by P. L.
