RESIDENCIES

A residency is the fruit of collaboration between you, your school, and Walking the dog Theater to create an intense theater experience for your students. The length of a residency is usually 5-6 weeks. One or two of Walking the dog Theater's experienced teaching artists guide your students through the process of producing a performance.We start with a preparatory phase: reading, comprehension, casting, individual research, and improvisation. Then the student ensemble steps into the rehearsal process, developing social and artistic skills that culminate in the performance of a play. Residencies are flexible in design and can be tailored to your school’s and students' specific needs.
